• The Cana Movement has launched a pilot project whereby it is hoping to bring the Holy Family into people’s home in order to encourage families to pray together for their own and other families.  The first parish to participate in this project is Stella Maris, Sliema.

On Sunday 10th May, the project was launched during a special family mass, celebrated by Fr Karm Mercieca, Vice-Director of the Cana Movement, during which three generous couples, who have accepted to collaborate in this project, were presented to the congregation.  During the mass, Seminarian David Borg, the artist of the icon, gave a brief explanation of its full significance.

  • After the consecration of the icon, the couples were presented with copies, which they shall be taking around to parishoners’ homes.  Fr  Joe Bartolo, Parish Priest, encouraged the Parish to welcome these couples and the Holy Family into their homes.

It is hoped that with the co-operation of other parishes, this pilot project will develop into a wide-spread initiative, with the aim of bearing much spiritual fruit.  Any parishes wishing to collaborate in this project are encouraged to contact the Director of the Cana Movement, Fr Joseph Mizzi.
