A project entitled Żwieġ B’Saħħtu was launched by Cana Movement in October 2008, the aim of which is to create greater awareness among the general public on the necessity for strengthening marriage and the family, through the presentation of different topics and aspects of family life.
The third talk in the fourth cycle of seminars will be delivered on 25th April 2012 by Dr Anna Maria Vella, President of the Cana Movement. Dr Vella is a medical doctor and for the last seventeen years she has been working with patients who have a drug problem. She is specialized in women’s health and is presently researching the effects of heroin on babies in the womb.
During her talk, Dr Vella will explore the meaning of human sexuality. In the Catholic tradition, why does sexuality come across as sinful? What are the contemporary teachings of the Church on the subject? She will address particularly the aspect of sexual intimacy of the married couple.
These talks which are aimed particularly as a means of on-going formation for the leading couples of the Cana Marriage Preparation Course, are a synopsis of the topics that are being offered over a two-year period at a more profound level as Seminars/Courses by the Institute of Pastoral Formation.
The general public is cordially invited to attend this talk which will be held at Sala San Pawl, Catholic Institute, Floriana, at 7.00pm.
