Collections initiated by Caritas Malta in aid of the earthquake victims and their families in Haiti have reached €181,000. Caritas Malta said this confirms that the people of Malta and Gozo rose to the occasion to help people in need. Caritas Malta added that this amount does not include all collections made in parishes.
The collection is being made with the approval of the Archbishop of Malta, Mgr Paul Cremona OP and the Bishop of Gozo, Mgr Mario Grech, who have appealed for people’s generosity to help those who are suffering as a result of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
Donations may be passed on to all Maltese and Gozitan Parish priests or sent directly to Caritas Malta by cheque payable to ‘Caritas Malta Haiti Fund’, to the following address:
