This year, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. visited six parishes between January and March. His first Pastoral Visit was held in Zabbar parish followed by Marsascala, Fgura, Fleur de Lys, Swatar and Birkirkara. To date, the Archbishop visited 36 out of 70 parishes. Four years ago, at the start of his episcopate Mgr Paul Cremona O.P. had clearly expressed his wish to visit all parishes in Malta.
The primary scope of these visits is for the Archbishop to meet people living in the parish and all those who offer their services within the Church. During the Archbishop’s meetings in the respective parishes, Mgr Cremona meets individual members of the parish, holds meetings with the various representatives of different commissions and interacts with younger members within their schools and Catechism Centres. The Archbishop celebrates Mass in each of these parishes, presides over parish meetings and addresses the Parish Assembly highlighting various issues which are important for the respective parishes to focus upon as part of their pastoral plan.
The Archbishop’s Pastoral visits will resume in September, starting with Rabat parish, moving on to Mtarfa, then to Mdina and Dingli parishes.
